How our service works

Nobody here lays markings. We run a small introduction service, free to schools, that looks for a contractor able to plan and lay your playground markings, and this page explains each step and who sees what.

  1. Send the brief

The school postcode, the markings you have in mind, how much tarmac they cover, how the work is being paid for, when you would like it laid, and a name and number for us to call.

  2. We look for a contractor

One that lays markings in your region and does the kind of work your brief describes, whether that is thermoplastic games, court lines or relining.

  3. You hear the name

Once we have found a suitable contractor, we tell you who it is. Your brief stays with us until you say it can go to them.

  4. Survey, layout, price

The contractor looks at the tarmac, sends a marked-up layout and a fixed price. Any order is between the school and that contractor.

What this site is not

It is not a marking contractor, a paint or thermoplastic supplier, or a playground designer, and it has no connection with any business whose name looks like ours.

What we never do

  • Charge the school, the PTA or you anything.
  • Send your brief to a contractor before you agree, or to a list of firms at once.
  • Price your markings. Only someone who has seen the tarmac can do that.
  • Add you to a newsletter or a mailing list.

How it is paid for

Contractors pay a fee for each school we put them in touch with. Schools are never charged, at any stage.

About our prices and notes

The prices on this site come from published contractor price guides, supply price lists, a national governing body’s cost sheet and public contract awards, and each page says where its figures come from. They help you set a budget or a PTA target; they are not a quote. Our notes on funding and court sizes are general guidance, not procurement advice.

Send a marking brief

Three short steps: where the school is, what you want marked, and how to reach you. It takes about two minutes.

We are a free matching service, not a marking firm. You get the contractor’s name from us first, and the brief only goes to them once you say yes.
